The Altitude residential
condominium building is a luxury building right in the heart
of the city.
Built in 2013 and with a prestigious
address at 1225 Robert Bourassa (formerly University until
2016) it is located directly opposite Place Ville Marie, the
cross shaped landmark office building which is known for its
lighthouse rotating spotlights visible at night.
There are a variety of unit types but most have 10 ft
ceilings or more, large windows and open views over the east
or west of the city. Most units also have balconies.
Altitude is an expensive building due to its amenities
and its prime location in the very heart of the business
district. Altitude is just accross the street from Place
Ville Marie which has an access to the underground city and
is equidistant to the orange line (Bonaventure) and the
green line (McGill). It is also just over five minutes walk
to McGill University which makes it one of the closest
buildings to this institution of academic excellence. Last
but not least, the financial district is a stone's throw
away.
The building's amenities are some of the best
in the city with an indoor swimming pool (with waterfall)
and spa facilities as well as a party room for those special
events, a billiards or 'pool' room, a gym, a common area
terrace, a wine cellar, and golf simulator (yes, I kid you
not) and a home cinema which looks and feels like the real
thing. The building also offers a one bedroom unit should
any of the buildings' residents require extra space for some
guests... at a price of course.
PROS:
Hi-tech building with elegant lobby, valet parking, excellent amenities
and all round well designed building
and units. Its location is almost unique and will only be
rivaled by TOM's condo once it is finished in 2018.
CONS:
Very expensive price per square foot makes for rather low
returns on the investment side. The already high condo fees
for a parking space are over $150 per month due to the valet
parking. This may of course help the building more exclusive
for those who are that way inclined. |
